"ATHANOR"
Computer Graphic with Cinema 4D (01/10/99)
Bigger Image (800/800)

Illustration for my novel "Thanatos, The Reefs".

This image is done with "Cinema 4D" from Maxon and a few INFINI-D from MetaCreation.

The suspended woman is an original photograph integrated with Photoshop.

The computer graphic has been realized on a "PowerMac G3/ 300", with 128 Mega of virtual memory on disc.

The virtual memory on disc slow the rendering but the important is : it works!.

To make this image, I have assigned 560 mega of memory to the software.

The render of the image in 72dpi 2000/ 2000 pixels took 1 hour. It is of course faster, without using virtual memory on disc if you have enough memory.

"Cinema 4D" is certainly one of the most powerful software to make computer graphics on Macintosh that I have been able to manipulate

I like very much his "modeleur" ? very powerful, and especially his easy utilisation of Nurbs and Bezier curves to make elaborate shapes, like faces, space engines, cars....

The renders are really very fast. The software has an incredible stability.

Its only defect is its cost really expensive in this year of 1999.
